Flexible-packaging converter Pactiv up for sale?
Pactiv Corp. is said to be in talks for a sale to private-equity group Apollo Global Management, reports The Wall Street Journal. Pactiv specializes in flexible packaging for foods and foodservice operations as well as manufactures the Hefty® line of trash-container liners.

Placon to add closed-loop recycling, sheet extruder
Fitchburg, WI-based Placon Corp. will construct a closed-loop recycling facility to grind and wash post-consumer PET bottles and thermoforms for processing into its EcoStar™ sheet products. By bringing the material supply chain closer to production, Placon is reducing total carbon footprint and offering customers more choices of materials, including 100% PCR-content PET, the converter says.

SupplyOne acquires Specialty Container Corp.
The Reading, PA, company purchased Dallas-based Specialty Container on May 10. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. A leader in industrial corrugated packaging, Specialty has a full complement of design, manufacturing, printing, distribution and fulfillment services. The merger continues SupplyOne’s growth strategy of acquiring profitable companies that are recognized leaders in their local markets.
